CLARIFICATION NOTICE

PHISHING EMAILS POSING AS COMASIA


Comasia Limited (“Comasia”) has recently noted that some unidentified parties have made unauthorised use of Comasia’s name to form phishing email addresses of “[email protected]” or “[email protected]” and have required exhibitors to transfer security deposits and/or participation fees to a bank account not belonged to or not authorised by Comasia.

Below is the content of one of the phishing emails with information of a bank account neither belong to nor authorised by Comasia:



Comasia hereby clarifies that its email domain is “@comasia.com.hk”. Comasia is not the sender of these emails and it has no connection whatsoever with the contents of the abovementioned phishing emails or the abovementioned bank account. Please do not respond to the email from the phishing email addresses, make any bank transfer as stipulated in the phishing email, or provide any personal information to those senders.

Comasia has taken the matter very seriously and has reported the case to the Hong Kong police. Comasia is committed to maintain high security of its database and undertakes to take steps to protect personal data of exhibitors. Comasia reserves all legal rights against any parties involved in commission of crime. Comasia has not changed nor has any plans to change its banking arrangements. Please note that Comasia only accepts payments from exhibitors with bank account registered under its own company name. Comasia does not conduct business using any personal bank account. Therefore, it is advisable to be wary of any requests for payments to be made into any account other than Comasia's regular bank account. It is advised that exhibitors independently confirm the bank account information and bank transfer instructions with Comasia in person or via telephone call to a trusted and verified phone number of their regular contact person in Comasia. If any exhibitors receives an email from the abovementioned fraudulent email addresses, please contact Comasia’s customer service hotline at (852) 2700 6726 and/ or report to the police immediately.

Please note that under no circumstances shall, Comasia and/or its affiliates and subsidiaries, be held liable or responsible for any claims, losses, damages, expenses, or other inconvenience resulting from or in any way connected to the actions of these fraudsters or these phishing emails.
